I’m Ali Mischke, and I’m an Advanced Board Certified Structural Integrator and a Registered Yoga Teacher.
I hold a BA from Brown University, where I studied anthropology and completed my pre-medical requirements. A year off before medical school turned into 12 years as a software designer. Although I decided not to pursue medicine, I maintained a strong desire to study and heal the mind-body.
In 2009, I completed a 500-hour yoga teacher training program with David Vendetti of South Boston Yoga. David introduced me to Structural Integration, which helped liberate me from long-standing depression and physical discomfort. I quickly realized I had found my life’s purpose.
I studied structural integration with Tom Myers, director and creator of Anatomy Trains. In 2011, I completed Tom’s 500-hour professional training program and passed my International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI) board certification exam. I completed my advanced Structural Integration training with Tom in 2013.
Also in 2013, I began to realize that work with the connective tissue and muscles is not enough. To realize full ease and balance, we must address consideration restrictions in and around the nerves (the neuromyofascia), the arteries, and the organs. I began to study with Rolfer Jon Martine, whose work in Neural Mobilization informs what I do on a daily basis. My work is also heavily influenced by my study of osteopathic techniques with Rolfer Jeffrey Burch.
I practice Structural Integration in North Cambridge.
My life centers around continuous learning, compassion for animals (human and otherwise), and a deeply ingrained sense of wonder and play. When I am not working, I lead an active lifestyle including running, yoga, lifting, and hiking.
